About Us

Plant a Row – Grow a Row was established by the Canadian Association of Food Banks, the Composting Council of Canada and the Garden Writers Association of America. In 2009, Kingston was one of 80 communities across Canada to participate in this initiative. In 2009, Kingston grew close to 3000 lbs of food that was distributed through Grow a Row. Help us reach our goal of 4000 lbs in 2010.

Loving Spoonful is a project of the Partners in MIssion Food Bank. In addition to promoting Grow a Row, we work to combat hunger by reclaiming surplus for for distribution to meal programs, and by working with partners to develop and promote sustainable solutions to local food insecurity. Our projects include community gardens, school gardens, and farmers markets. We work to educate and advocate for a healthy and just food system for all.
