Plant a Row – Grow a Row was established by the Canadian Association of Food Banks, the Composting Council of Canada and the Garden Writers Association of America. In 2009, Kingston was one of 80 communities across Canada to participate in this initiative. In 2010, Kingston grew over 4000 lbs of food that was distributed through Grow a Row. Help us reach our goal of 5000 lbs in 2011.
Loving Spoonful also works to combat hunger by reclaiming surplus for for distribution to meal programs, and by working with partners to develop and promote sustainable solutions to local food insecurity. Our projects include community gardens, school gardens, and farmers markets. We work to educate and advocate for a healthy and just food system for all.
